Sad little gingerbread house!

This year we had a small neighborhood family night of decorating gingerbread houses! I was so excited to show off my amazing decorating skills, on our gingerbread creation! It was not to be however, before I even got the gingerbread out of the box (yes it was a kit, I don't bake gingerbread) I broke to off the two main pieces! I proceed to use the glue-like icing, that I whipped up earlier, to glue them together! As Jackson and I are waiting for those pieces to set, we start to glue the rest of the house, well as much of it as we could without those pieces! I take the rest of the pieces and place them in their spots, and without warning my house completly collapses! So of course I give up, but in comes Danny who is sure that he can fix it..and after about a pound of icing, and Jackson's oodles of candy this is what we end up with...

The next batch of icing was a little too runny and Dan decide to just dump it on top of the house like a winter storm, had hit it, and like a winter storm, the house started to fold underneath it..

Let's just say that our neighbors, had better results with theirs!

I mean look at the concentration that went into this!!!
Dr. Evil and his finished product

The sillito's and their Chateua, this one took home the first place prize, I mean come on they made it out of graham crackers. A masterpiece...

For some reason I don't have a completly finished pictures of the Chateau, it was quite amazing with the candy on it...sorry.

Then Jenkins masterpiece, which I might add also collapsed at one point, but Jen being more diligent that I, was able to keep it all together!

You are all invited next year, we will do it at the Jenkins house...sound good?

Crazy sleeping children!!

So I have always known that my kids had a strange way of sleeping, since they were born. I would check on them as babies, and always find them in a different postion each time I would check! I thought they would outgrow this, apparently I was wrong. Sometimes when they climb in bed with me when Dan is gone, I find myself waking up to feet in my face or better yet Rachel will just lay completley on top of my face! Is it necessary to sleep so insanely? So I thought maybe this was a genetic defect that had escaped Landon, as he has always slept soundly and usually never moves too much from the position in which I lay him down. Boy was I wrong, I woke up this morning to check on him, and this is what I found!

So I thought I would snap some pictures of this, ( I also realize that if I had all the proper crib bedding that this probably would not have occured, but really this is my third child and I didn't get it for the first two, so does he really need it? I guess so.) After the second flash went off it woke him up. Does this look like a happy child to you, he must take after his mother in the morning!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a blast this year! We went to my mom and dad's house and stuffed ourselves full of Turkey and taters..My dad set one table for the 1st generation, (grandparents and great-grandparents) one table for 2nd generation, (us parents) and one table for the 3rd generation (our children) I have never had a better meal, just knowing that my kids were on a different table was fabulous for me, although I am not so sure that they ate very much considering that I wasn't there to moniter it.

This is Landon in his way cute matching sweater and hat set that was once Jackson's, and was originally Blake and Bradley's (thanks Andrea we love your hand-me down clothes).
Who could not absolutley love this face. He looked so cute, however my parents house was like 80 degree's so he wore it just long enough to look cute for pictures, and then we had to strip him down.

We then sat around in our post turkey haze, loafing here and there and getting in on some wii action, that is after we figured out how to work the controllers! Then we played some doubles tennis, and a little boxing until our arms were killing us. The kids kept busy by playing some mean games of air hockey!

They also had a good time jumping and climbing on the human mountain, Uncle Dan! He was so fun to let the boys jump on him and wrestle!

Landon finally concked out at the end of the day! I think he was just doing what the rest of us wish we were doing. It was a great day, and then we went to Dan's parents and the kids got to sleepover with all of their cousins!

The things I am grateful for

It's that time of year when we start to refelct on the things that we are grateful for, and I was thinking about the things that I am most thankful for. I think the one thing that I most thankful for is health, healthy children healthy husband, and healthy family. I am thankful, that with all of the health concerns that Dan's father has, that he still with us today, I don't think we thought he would be!

I am thankful for duaghters, incredible grateful to have one, she is so amazingly special. She drives me nuts some days but I think that she is my mini-me at least personality-wise. She is alwasy so willing to help me with Landon and Jackson and she let's Jackson follow her everywhere even when playing with her friends. She is my tom-boy/girly girl. She had a rough start into this world but is my helathiest child! I love watching her sleep, she is so beautiful! We are so lucky to have her in our lives!

I am thankful for Jackson, he is my crazy three year old, (you've seen his head in the chair). He is also very sweet and very much a daddy's boy! He cries in the mornings when he sees that dad has gone to work! He is a polar opposite of Rachel, very shy and does his own thing, generally does not need to be entertained! He tells me all the time "I wove you mommy" he has a hard time with his L's and I love the way he talks. He loves everything boy, ie trucks and balls, and wrestling. He has finally surpased the 27 pound mark yeah go Jackson!

I am thankful for Landon, he is already seven months old! How fast time goes by. He is at such a fun age, he smiles at everyone and everything, and he is truly my momma's boy, and I love it! He is very into his own voice, and squeals as much as possible to Rachel and Jackson's delight! He has mastered the art of sitting, and loves to chew on anything you put in front of him! He loves food, (you wouldn't know it by looking at him) and pulling my hair! He loves to giggle at Rachel, and she loves to play with him.

I am thankful for family! I have an incredible support system of great family, between my parents, Danny's parents, grandparents, brothers, and sister-in-laws on both sides, they are always there! I am so thankful for the example that my parents have set for me, and taught me, I know that because of them I have a great and happy life! Can you spot the Stott family in that group of Lawson's?

I am thankful for my husband, he works so hard to make it possible for me to be home! He also is a great help with the kids, and always allows them to "help" whenever he is doing projects around the house! They love being with him, and he is always so good to play with them (he really is a little kid at heart)! He makes me laugh everyday, and is always willing to help out family, friends, neighbors etc. I love how kind and sweet his is especially to his own parents! I hope our children learn from his example!

I am thankful for friends, who put up with me everyday! Who are examples to me, and who let me be me! We have developed some really great friendships in our neighborhood, and even though some of them think they can move...(you know who you are) I am sure that we will be friends forever, (unless of course you get too wierd J/K)! I am thankful for our neighbors
who we can have so much demented fun with!

Especially the ones who let us take pictures of them eating!!! We love you guys!

There are so many other things that I am thankful for, that I won't bore you with all of them. Just one last one! I am thankful for temples, We haven't been as much as we would like to this last year, I hope to get better at it, luckily we have friends who will keep invinting us and reminding us how important it is to go!

I've been Tagged!!

What was the best thing you cooked last week?

I made the best chicken parmigan, from a low fat cookbook that even Jackson gobbled up...and if you know Jackson that is quite an accomplishment! We had green beans and angel hair pasta on the side..delicious.

If time money and babysitting were no object where would you go and with who?

There are so many places that I would love to go that it would be hard to narrow it down. My parents went on a meditteranean (is that how it's spelled?) cruise last year for a couple of weeks and that would be my all time favorite, you get to see parts of most of europe, on a cruise, I love it! The next place that I would trully love to visit would be Australia some thing about the land down under that fascinates me. Then of course anywhere tropical. My traveling partner would always be Dan of course, although I also love traveling with my Dad, he's always up for a great trip, if Dan couldn't go!

Five things you were doing 10 years ago?

Ten years ago, I was engaged to Dan, I was working at a dental Lab (where perfection is required and yet I don't quite do anything perfectly!) I was planning a wedding that was going to take place April 18th, and actually happend on Feb 20th, we are in love 6 months is a long time! We were getting ready for the Holiday's! My family had just come home from a very awesome week-long trip to a beach house in San Diego, with my two married brothers, and my big brother who had just gotten home from a mission!

Five things on your to do list!

Build a shed so that our neighbors don't have to look at our heap of junk on the side of our house...of course this will happen in the spring! Lose 10 more pounds exercise for the day, clean out the fridge, and finish paiting up my stairs, which requires and large ladder and no fear!

Five favorite snacks?

1. Ice cream 2. Hershey's candy bar with Almonds (Jen I know that you don't love nut's in chocolate, but it's the only way) 3. Popcorn 4. Anything and everything covered or baked in cheese. 5. Cheese and crackers.

Five bad habits?

Biting my fingernails (thanks mom) Drinking Diet coke, I just wish that I loved water more. Procrastinating..I do this very well, I think maybe I talk to much or too loud, and spending money.

Five favorite foods.

1. Pizza love it can't get enough of it. 2. Anything from the olive Garden...and loaded in carbs. 3. I hate to admit this, but I love McDonalds french fries, I think they are the best and I don't actually hate their food either. 4. I love Mexcian food, I mean most of it is covered in cheese, what's not to love. 5. I love good sandwiches from restaurants.

Top five places i've been?

Well I haven't been very many places..my favorite is Orlando Florida with Disney world and Epcott Center. My next would have to be southern California, we went there alot growing up and I just love it! When I was young we went to Courdelain (I have no idea how that is spelled) Idaho, and it was beautiful. I love Yellowstone and Jackson Hole! Spirit Lake with my husband he has such great family memories there, and we have created of few of our own. I love the outdoors too.

Five favorite memories?

My wedding day definatley, the dress the event the temple, seeing my dad in the sealing room and trying not to cry before the sealing even began, I had to force my self not to look at him. I love everything about that day! Every Child's birth (with exception of Rachel, hers was a little more traumatic than I would have liked) I love telling my mom when I am pregnant she just gets so excited it's so fun, and of course she is always the first person that I tell after Dan, and then I make her keep a secret for 12 weeks. I have very fond memories of baseball and Davis high football games growing up and watching my brothers play. I have also love watching my nephew Hayden play this year. I have some really awesome memories of my sister in law Kathie taking me to movies and haunted houses when I was
13 or 14 while my brother was on his mission, kathie you are awesome! I had one year of Halloween and no one to go tricking or treating with and my big brother Spenny let me tag along with him and all of his friends, he was so cool about it! I have good memories of St. George growing up, and swimming! I think that was more than five sorry.

All right now it's my turn to do the tagging, and I tag the Markhams, and the Nelsons, so go get on it you guys, and spend half your day answereing questions, you know you love it!

Jackson Danny

Jackson is 3 years old and he loves to play with his cousins and ride his scooter! We are quite amazed with how well he actually does on his scooter, he races Rachel around the neighborhood, and can almost keep up! He has a hard time saying his L's so everything comes out sounding like a W. I Wove You mom, and my all time favorite. "mom baby Wandon is crying..Wandon has stuck around for all of us especially when he is crying. It's "oh baby WAAAAAAANdon what's wrong!" Jackson is at such a fun age right now everything he says is hilarious (except for when he is having a tantrum and screaming it at me)!

Rachel is 6 years old and in the first grade WOW! She loves math...she is not her mothers daughter! She is super outgoing..about a week into school, she came home with about 15 pages of paper..so I say what is all of this, and she smiles and says those are all of my new friends at school. On these papers are everyones names and phone numbers that she has met at school! Then she says can we call all of them and see if they can come over and play, because I already invited them to my house today!!! She is so much fun to have around, she is quite helpful with Landon and Jackson.

Landon Chad is now 6 months old!!!! Can you believe that, it goes by so fast!! He love to eat food especially oatmeal with carrots...sounds grotesque to me, but whatever! He is trying to teeth on everything, and I think he is finally getting his first tooth, so gone is the cute toothless grin that I know and love!! He grabs at everything in front of him including whatever I am holding..and he always thinks he is funny, he is happiest when he is in the buff/birthday suit, he just loves it!!
