Sad little gingerbread house!

This year we had a small neighborhood family night of decorating gingerbread houses! I was so excited to show off my amazing decorating skills, on our gingerbread creation! It was not to be however, before I even got the gingerbread out of the box (yes it was a kit, I don't bake gingerbread) I broke to off the two main pieces! I proceed to use the glue-like icing, that I whipped up earlier, to glue them together! As Jackson and I are waiting for those pieces to set, we start to glue the rest of the house, well as much of it as we could without those pieces! I take the rest of the pieces and place them in their spots, and without warning my house completly collapses! So of course I give up, but in comes Danny who is sure that he can fix it..and after about a pound of icing, and Jackson's oodles of candy this is what we end up with...

The next batch of icing was a little too runny and Dan decide to just dump it on top of the house like a winter storm, had hit it, and like a winter storm, the house started to fold underneath it..

Let's just say that our neighbors, had better results with theirs!

I mean look at the concentration that went into this!!!
Dr. Evil and his finished product

The sillito's and their Chateua, this one took home the first place prize, I mean come on they made it out of graham crackers. A masterpiece...

For some reason I don't have a completly finished pictures of the Chateau, it was quite amazing with the candy on it...sorry.

Then Jenkins masterpiece, which I might add also collapsed at one point, but Jen being more diligent that I, was able to keep it all together!

You are all invited next year, we will do it at the Jenkins house...sound good?

Crazy sleeping children!!

So I have always known that my kids had a strange way of sleeping, since they were born. I would check on them as babies, and always find them in a different postion each time I would check! I thought they would outgrow this, apparently I was wrong. Sometimes when they climb in bed with me when Dan is gone, I find myself waking up to feet in my face or better yet Rachel will just lay completley on top of my face! Is it necessary to sleep so insanely? So I thought maybe this was a genetic defect that had escaped Landon, as he has always slept soundly and usually never moves too much from the position in which I lay him down. Boy was I wrong, I woke up this morning to check on him, and this is what I found!

So I thought I would snap some pictures of this, ( I also realize that if I had all the proper crib bedding that this probably would not have occured, but really this is my third child and I didn't get it for the first two, so does he really need it? I guess so.) After the second flash went off it woke him up. Does this look like a happy child to you, he must take after his mother in the morning!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a blast this year! We went to my mom and dad's house and stuffed ourselves full of Turkey and taters..My dad set one table for the 1st generation, (grandparents and great-grandparents) one table for 2nd generation, (us parents) and one table for the 3rd generation (our children) I have never had a better meal, just knowing that my kids were on a different table was fabulous for me, although I am not so sure that they ate very much considering that I wasn't there to moniter it.

This is Landon in his way cute matching sweater and hat set that was once Jackson's, and was originally Blake and Bradley's (thanks Andrea we love your hand-me down clothes).
Who could not absolutley love this face. He looked so cute, however my parents house was like 80 degree's so he wore it just long enough to look cute for pictures, and then we had to strip him down.

We then sat around in our post turkey haze, loafing here and there and getting in on some wii action, that is after we figured out how to work the controllers! Then we played some doubles tennis, and a little boxing until our arms were killing us. The kids kept busy by playing some mean games of air hockey!

They also had a good time jumping and climbing on the human mountain, Uncle Dan! He was so fun to let the boys jump on him and wrestle!

Landon finally concked out at the end of the day! I think he was just doing what the rest of us wish we were doing. It was a great day, and then we went to Dan's parents and the kids got to sleepover with all of their cousins!
