My baby is a whole year old!!

Landon had his first birthday Saturday the 19th! I can't get over how fast the year has flown by! Here are some of his likes and dislikes...in no particular order.

1. Loves his mother (really who could blame him)

2. Loves to eat anything and everything that he can find on the floor, especially if it's a choking hazard.
3. Loves to make the sniffing noise, and scrunch his nose all up!
4. Loves his brother and sister, no matter how much they maul him!

5. Apparently he loves balloons!

6. He loves to get into the kitchen cabinets, and anything else that is off limits.
7. LOVES to take baths, and splash until the floor is sufficiently wet enough to bathe in.

Things he doesn't love
1. When mom takes ANYTHING away.
2. Diaper changes
3. He doesn't like to eat dirt...which is odd considering that my other two babies thought that dirt was part of a 7 course meal!
4. He doesnt' like to crawl on the kitchen floor.
5. He hates his nose wiped off, and or face for that matter.
6. He hates hair, and refuses to grow any on top of his head.
7. He doesn't like to eat, because it takes time away from playing, crawling, getting into everything etc.

Apparently he loves to eat cake though, and doesn't mind getting all sorts of messy doing it!

The cake before Landon gets his hands on it!

I don't know about this...why is my cake on fire?

Not bad, not bad at all...I think I like this.

Don't mind if I help myself...dig right in!

Why are my toys all covered in paper? Is this supposed to be fun?
Landon we love you so much and Happy 1st Birthday...Lots of family there to love and support you...and quite a bit of loot for a 1 year old! We love you.

I knew this day would come...

but I didn't realize that it would come so fast! Rachel is old enough to want sleepoers. Dan and I had talked early on when she was a baby about sleepovers, and had decided that our kids would not be having friend sleepovers! I don't want to be the mean mom around town, but I know that nothing good happens after midnight...and so when Rachel asked if she could sleepover at her good friend Hannah's house we had to have the sleepover talk! She was a little disappoited at first but then I mentioned that we could however have late-nights! We decided that we would have a late night on Friday night with some of her friends...we planned it out, we had som pizza and rented Enchanted, and cooked up some popcorn in our really awesome popcorn popper! We took the queen size mattress off of her bed, and laid it down in front of the tv, and got pillows and blankets together! Her friends came over at around six thirty and stayed until just after ten! We painted fingernails and did all sorts of girly stuff, while Dan kept the boys downstairs and away from the girls! It was a blast, and made me realize that the kids don't really need sleepovers!

Tell me, am I over-paranoid? Am I the only one out there who doesn't think that my kids need to have friend sleepovers? They get to have cousin sleepovers every once in a while, that should be good enough right? Are we the mean parents? Probably but at least I feel like I have some control, over what happens late at night! Late nights are great, and hopefully I won't scar my kids forever! Decisions, Decisions!

Mom and Daughter time!

My mom, Rachel, and I had a little mom and daughter bonding time, we went to the nail salon, and had pedicures and then out to dinner at Red Robin. Rachel loves their mac'n'cheese there! It was alot of fun, and since she is my only daughter, I get to spoil her a little. It is so much fun to share some of these moments with her, now that she is getting old enough too, and before she is old enough to think that it is not cool to hang out with mom! She is trully so much fun, and I love her so much!

Spa vacation with my peeps...(can I pull that off?)

So my husband loves me, around Christmas time, he said that I should go on a vacation with my girl friends, seeing as how every year he goes on a fishing trip with his brothers! I of course had no problems with this plan, and so here is the first ever girls spa get-away, I wasn't sure how many people we would be able to get, but it turned out nicely and now that I know, next year I think that we could totally swing twenty or so...so whomever wants to go, just know that you are invited already! Here are some pictures...I would say it was relaxing but, we didn't get much sleep..we played games, and of course had hours of girl talk (like do your kids do these wierd things that my kids do??? And the ever present my kids are so cute...they do this..type of mom talk, and by the end we all missed our kids!

We all had our Zoolander faces on!
